Guide Farming Motes

This guide is about World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade.
Guide shows you which mobs drop what motes the most. Originally created for Gnome Problem, a link back to the site or the thread would be appreciated, but not necessary.
Excluded motes of shadow, because of the exceptional ease to farm them collect them yourself, or the cheap prices of it on 99.9% of the auction houses.
Entries are tagged in the following style: MONSTER NAME [MONSTER LEVEL] @ MONSTER AREA (DROP RATE)
Farming: Mote of Air

- Storming Wind-Ripper [69-71] @ Nagrand (33.7% Drop Rate)
- Enraged Air Spirit [69-70] @ Shadowmoon Valley (25.6% Drop Rate)
- Storm Rager [64-66] @ Nagrand (18.6% Drop Rate)
- Dust Howler [63-65] @ Nagrand (18.3% Drop Rate)
- Living Cyclone [66-67] @ Nagrand (17.6% Drop Rate)

Notes: As you can see, Nagrand is pretty much the spot for farming Motes of Air. I recommend farming the Storm Ragers when you are 70, pretty easy killins.
Farming : Mote of Earth

- Sundered Thunderer [68-69] @ Netherstorm (20.3% Drop Rate)
- Sundered Rumbler [67-68] @ Netherstorm (18.8% Drop Rate)
- Shattered Rumbler [65-67] @ Nagrand (17.9% Drop rate)
- Enraged Earth Spirit [68-69] @ Shadowmoon Valley (17.9% Drop Rate)
- Rumbling Earth Heart [70-71] @ Nagrand (15.7% Drop Rate)
- Tortured Earth Spirit [63-65] @ Nagrand (14.0% Drop Rate)
- Enraged Crusher [64-66] @ Nagrand (13.6% Drop Rate)

Notes: I either go for Shattered Rumblers and Enraged Crushers in Nagrand or if you prefer farming higher level mobs, you can choose the Sundered Thunderer & Sundered Rumbler to hunt.
Farming : Mote of Fire

- Raging Fire-Soul [70-71] @ Nagrand (34.1% Drop Rate)
- Fel Rager [70-71] @ Blade's Edge Mountains (33.3% Drop Rate)
- Vile Fire-Soul [70-71] @ Blade's Edge Mountains (33.1% Drop Rate)
- Enraged Fire Spirit [68-69] @ Shadowmoon Valley (25.6% Drop Rate)
- Searing Elemental [67-68] @ Blade's Edge Mountains / Netherstorm (25.4% Drop Rate)
Notes: I usually go for the Searing Elementals within Skald (an area in

Blade's Edge Mountains, northeast) because they hurt the least and are easiest to kill.
Farming : Mote of Life

- Rotting Forest-Rager [61-65] @ Terokkar Forest (85.1% Drop Rate)
- Bog Lord [64] @ Zangarmarsh (18.8% Drop Rate)
- Infested Root-Walker [60-65] @ Terokkar Forest (18.7% Drop Rate)
- Withered Giant [60-62] @ Zangarmarsh (18.7% Drop Rate)
- Lagoon Walker [61-62] @ Zangarmarsh (18.5% Drop Rate)
- Fungal Giant [63-64] @ Zangarmarsh (18.5% Drop Rate)
- Starving Bog Lord [63-64] @ Zangarmarsh (18.5% Drop Rate)
- Starving Fungal Giant [62-64] @ Zangarmarsh (18.4% Drop Rate)
- Withered Bog Lord [61-62] @ Zangarmarsh (18.3% Drop Rate)

Notes: Bog Lords, that's whats for lunch, that's whats for dinner. Zangarmarsh is the best place to farm Motes of Life.

- Unbound Ethereal [70-71] @ Blade's Edge Mountains (33.6% Drop Rate)
- Mageslayer [68-69] @ Netherstorm (25.8% Drop Rate)
- Mana Wraith [67-68] @ Netherstorm (25.7% Drop Rate)
- Mana Seeker [68-69] @ Netherstorm (25.6% Drop Rate)
- Nether Ray [67-68] @ Netherstorm (25.6% Drop Rate)
- Phase Hunter [67-68] @ Netherstorm (25.4% Drop Rate)
- Netherskate [69-70] @ Shadowmoon Valley (25.2% Drop Rate)
- Warp Aberration [67-68] @ Netherstorm (25.0% Drop Rate)
- Warp Monstrosity [68-69] @ Netherstorm (24.9% Drop Rate)
- Mana Snapper [67-68] @ Netherstorm (24.6% Drop Rate)
- Lagoon Eel [61-62] @ Zangarmarsh (10.1% Drop Rate)
- Bloodthirsty Marshfang [60-62] @ Zangarmarsh (9.3% Drop Rate)

Notes: As you can see, Netherstorm is the primo location for mobs that drop the motes of mana we desire, but if you want easy pickings, the Lagoon Eels in Zangarmarsh are cake.
Farming : Mote of Water

- Skettis Surger [70-71] @ Terokkar Forest (34.0% Drop Rate)
- Crashing Wave-Spirit [70-71] @ Nagrand (33.7% Drop Rate)
- Enraged Water Spirit [68-69] @ Shadowmoon Valley (25.6% Drop Rate)
- Muck Spawn [63-66] @ Nagrand (19.1% Drop Rate)
- Lake Surger [65-66] @ Nagrand (18.7% Drop Rate)
- Lake Spirit [64-65] @ Nagrand (18.7% Drop Rate)
- Shimmerscale Eel [62-63] @ Terokkar Forest (14.2% Drop Rate)

Notes: I like farming for them in Nagrand, but I've heard fishing for them reaps better rewards. Need to test it out myself though, but must build up my fishing skill first.
